EUniverse Final Conference: bringing EU values into everyday university life
From 16 to 18 June 2026, the University of Granada hosted the EUniverse Final Conference, bringing together students, higher education representatives, Erasmus+ stakeholders, European organisations and policy actors for three days of exchange on the future of values-driven internationalisation. Held under the theme “EU values at the core of Integration, Education, and Innovation”, the event marked an important moment to share the project’s results and reflect on how European values can be translated into concrete practices across universities.
Throughout the conference, discussions highlighted the idea that mobility is not just an end in itself. Speakers and participants emphasised that Erasmus+ and international cooperation are most meaningful when they help students feel included, supported and connected to the communities around them. From integration and wellbeing to democratic participation and internationalisation at home, the sessions made one thing clear: universities need to create environments where values such as inclusion, dialogue, belonging and active citizenship are experienced in everyday academic life.
The conference also provided a space to present and discuss the main EUniverse outputs, including tools and recommendations designed to support institutions in embedding EU values more structurally. Particular attention was given to the role of students as co-creators of internationalisation, with student-led examples showing how young people can contribute to more open, inclusive and democratic higher education communities.
Organisers called the final event a successful and inspiring close to the project, marked by diverse participation, high-quality exchanges and strong student engagement. The discussions also reinforced the importance of continuing to disseminate EUniverse results beyond the consortium and of promoting a values-driven approach to Erasmus+ and higher education in the years ahead.
Thank you to all speakers, organisers, student volunteers and participants who all contributed to a successful, open and welcoming event!
